At Better Tours of Asheville, we believe that truth is stranger than fiction, and do not see the necessity to use urban legends and special effects in our tours. We won’t insult you with embellished stories, self-aggrandizing tour guides or B-List actors jumping out of bushes wearing masks.
Instead, the tour is conducted by guides who have personally investigated the locations on the tour and done the research into the stories, ensuring accuracy, and providing our own experiences and insights.
The guides who designed the tour are paranormal investigators who have been featured on National Geographic Channel.
Ghost tours run by reservation only on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 9 pm. Before purchasing tickets, please call 828-337-5480 to check availability for your preferred night. Private group tours may be available at other times and evenings.

* Because of the professional nature of this tour, we do not make any guarantees for “paranormal” photos or activity. We feel this is a disservice to the paranormal community, as well as an outright lie to the consumer. If such activity were so commonplace, it would cease to be “paranormal,” and simply be “normal.” The enduring mystery behind the field of the paranormal is that it is random, unexpected, and a truly momentous occasion when something does occur. Orbs in photos may or may not be paranormal, and a variety of factors must be taken into consideration before concluding one way or the other. If there is moisture in the air, the flash of your camera will reflect off of drops of dew and produce a “snowy orb” effect, wherein the picture appears to be taken amidst a snowfall. This type of image is used by many tour groups to “prove” paranormal activity in a location. Do not be fooled.
